I introduced Solutions Journalism in my news organization two years back, and the result is amazing. We try to follow all four pillars to define our stories. Maybe our contents are not in volume, but yes we have worked and still working to reach out to more with this approach of journalism. If we practice Solutions Journalism or lead by example, we can be able to convince many others to follow Solutions Journalism way.

This is excellent Joydeep. For me based on the material I have gone through so far, I would probably start building robust solutions practice in my newsroom through listening much to, and responding to, the public’s concerns which I then believes makes it possible to connect with the society. I believe making issues comprehensible, relevant, and engaging to normal people might be useful to start building robust solutions practice in my newsroom. Also, showing people ways to take action against problems in their community can be another way to start building robust solutions practice in my newsroom. No doubt, understanding how communities are dealing with problems can be a rich source of stories for journalists in these regions and can offer critical insights to others.

Thanks!
Showing people ways to take action against problems in their communities will guide them to make their own judgements that would lead to transparency.

That's great, Joydeep. I would be interested to hear about the way you introduced SOJO--what worked, what didn't.
