I would first of all look for data on viewership of stories aired in newsroom. Data shows people are no longer interested with negativity news; they want stories that can give hope and provide solutions to their problems.
We would analyze this data with colleagues and then discuss how we can re-align our news coverage to the new trend.
I would then look for published solution journalism stories, we analyze them with colleagues. What's unique with these stories? What does the data show about viewership? Can we tailor our stories towards solution journalism angle?
We would then give it a trial and see the results
