Planning, execution, and processing.

Of course, learning what solutions journalism is and what it is not. Then, applying the four pillars to every piece of work:  RESPONSE, INSIGHT, EVIDENCE, LIMITATIONS.

I would suggest  collaborative and joint efforts with colleagues of other media outlets. We can learn a lot  from each other’s experiences.

I agree planning is key, in general to all forms of success. I also considered that it may be relevant to each newsroom that's willing and able to incorporate solutions journalism to their roster to have a quota to reach for solutions stories ie at least two a week. That builds the momentum and visibility of solutions journalism and grows an audience and down the road becomes a norm. The end goal is something along the lines of a small dedicated unit to solutions journalism, the same way there are small investigative units in most newsroom. The hope is that it changes the social landscape of the profession so with small steps like that, the hope is that it becomes an established and well-trusted norm among newsroom.
