The first thing is for me to believe in it as an editor.
Secondly, the management must be convinced with facts and figures to buy into Solutions Journalism, not as a completely different idea, but one which completes the cycle of journalism from the problem-focused journalism.

Management are interested in revenue, so why not convince them that solutions journalism will earn the organisation more income, as the audience base increases due to restored trust and hope of the audiences.

Reporters are also to be convinced on this.

Thereafter, the workstream (planning, execution and processing of the story) must be well laid out, giving a considerable timeline to see the process through. It may be gradual, but keep it steady!
