I agree with Evangelia. The way data viz is incorporated into the copy is seamless. They keep it super simple in the beginning and then add variables (via color and shape size) in later graphics that reflect new info laid out in text.
It also incorporates video and audio along with the loads of data, such that the overall effect feels like a sort of well curated, intimate museum exhibit.
